News in Review
A sarcastic, vitriolic and probably inaccurate review of news that wasn’t fit to review in the first place.
Well, I'm fresh back from an abortive romantic encounter that was more like an unromantic unencounter. But I have my head about me again, and I'm ready to dive right back into it and, if not post interesting, thoughtful commentary, at least lash out angrily.
Election Redux #15
Despite having a mainstream media that is solidly in the Democratic camp, the Democrats lost the election. No, John Kerry didn’t lose the election. If he had, then we would have seen a more balanced result in the house and senate. It is clear that this election was lost by Democratic ideas. Now, I know what you’re saying: “What Democratic ideas?” Touche… but remember, just because Leftist ideas are all left over from the 60’s, and they’re fighting battles that have been over for thirty years, does NOT mean they have no ideas. It just means their ideas are so old, dusty and tired that it seems they don’t have any.
But that’s not the news now. Today, the news is that despite losing Ohio by north of 100,000 votes, the Democrats (who, remember, seem to have a very difficult time letting go of the past), they are still harping about a recount in Ohio.
Is there anything more pathetic than this? Is there anything so unseemly as losing a presidential race by 3 million votes in the popular vote and still be desperately clinging to such a forlorn hope?
And these are the people that call themselves “progressive”. Don’t make me laugh.
America, a Nation Divided
I love it when liberals refer to America as a “Divided Nation”. The message seems to be “Yes, you’re the president, but a lot of people don’t like you.” Correct me if I’m wrong, but when Bill Clinton was elected twice without winning a majority of votes either time, there was no talk of a “divided nation”.
And exactly why is it divided? Because the same people who insist on bringing up the “divided nation” point are… wait for it… busily dividing the nation! Recount this, accusation that, and when someone actually tries to govern, they point out that the nation is divided. It’s ludicrous and desperate… exactly what we’ve come to expect from the left.
US Meddled in Vote, Ukraine Says
A short list of other things we’ve meddled in:
Selfishly meddling in Germany, World War II
Callously meddling in the Middle East to protect the only democracy there
Arrogantly meddling in the worst dictatorship in history, the USSR
Meddling in Iraq, which is by all accounts Saddam’s joint. How dare we?
The world would be living under an incompetent, murderous, sick dictatorship if it weren’t for our meddling – and that’s if it had survived the various other sick, incompetent dictatorships. Three cheers for meddlers!
And I might point out, I can’t think of a more meddlesome thing than poisoning your opponent. Is this meddling? Set me straight here. “Yes we poisoned him, by God, but we’re Ukrainians!”
